What is on the Internet? I copied the following list from a camp information sheet I found on the internet once. OK Ill admit to being a bit bored that night, and I cant remember what it was I was searching for. I wish I had copied the rest of the info - it was quite funny and sad. This list was on the Internet, Boy Scout of America Troop 772 (I think) published a camp letter with the following table included Unauthorized Items
Did you notice - Personal Jet Ski's are banned!! How could they live. Makes you think though how different our Scouting really is. In Denmark it is legal for a Scout to carry an 8" long sheath knife openly on his belt (But only legal for a Scout in uniform and no one else) Just another thought if you ever look for this. This was on a letter for the parents, but I found it and read it (without looking, I was looking for campfire stuff). I could have noted when the camp was, where it was, the weeks programme, the bus company carrying the Scouts, and who the leaders are. This was published innocently, but could have been used to great harm. Think of a phoney news report (a bit more research could have given the right area of America they travelled from) - The Bus has had an accident on the way to ...., and the leader (call him Mr Bob) said "....". All accurate facts, a parent hears it and great panic. Always be cautious about what you publish on the internet. |
