The following is a list of equipment an expedition leader should consider including and carried by the group. Some of this equipment should always be carried and some of it should be carried by every participant in the walk or expedition

Knowledge
- Personal knowledge of the route
- First aid skills
- Knowing the people in the group

- Sun Screen / Sun Tan Lotion
- Midge Repellent
- Gloves and Hat, Bivvi Bag.
- Torch, spare batteries and spare bulb
- Walking Poles (Not Essential but very good)
- Stove and Fuel
- Refuse Sacks (can be used as emergency waterproofs)
