The Jungle Book Characters
In the Cub Pack, the leaders are called strange names. In charge of the pack is Akela.
These names were taken from a book called 'The Jungle Book'. This book and stories is about a boy, Mowgli and his adventures. Mowgli got lost in the jungle and was found by a wolf family - Mother, Father and 3 Cubs. They were accepted in the Wolf pack. The wolf Pack is led by Akela (that is why our cub pack is led by Akela), and they showed much kindness to Mowgli. Mowgli was very different to the rest of the cubs but was accepted as one of the pack, and together they had many adventures.
The other leaders in the pack can be named after one of the other characters in the book, and these are:

Akela, A wolf who is in charge of the cub pack
Sher Khan, the bad tiger who wants to eat Mowgli
Baloo, a sleepy brown bear who taught the cubs the ways of the jungle
Bagheera, a black panther
Chil, the Kite (a sort of bird)
kaa, the Rock Python, enemy of the Monkeys (naughty, naughty monkeys)
Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, a mongoose (like a big cat, weasel, rat thing)
Hathi, an elephant
The following animals also appear in the stories but few cub leaders (if any) are called by these names.
Tabaqui, a jackal, and mischief maker
Mang, a bat
Nag, a cobra
Nagaina, a mrs cobra
Raksha
Chuchundra, a musk rat
Rama, a bull
